hello wondering if anyone can help

i want driving along and my heating wouldnt go hot and my car started rattling like mad when driving and it was smoking really bad at the front and stalled on me and i got service man to come get me as im fully comp and the guy said i have a leak in the core plug thats where the smoke is coming out.. what could it be? head gasket im sure is fine the guy said.. oil is clean and no smoke from exhuast so what could it be? should i changed the core plug and that might do the trick? i might try K SEAL to fix the leak?

Don't use K Seal. It gums up places you really don't want gumming up.

If you replaced the core plug correctly, that'll have sorted it (but they go because some idiot has run the car without anti-freeze, rust from the inside out) but you'd expect that other core plugs (there are 10 of them!) may be soon to follow.

So, new coolant, change the oil and filter (you'll have seriously cooked the oil) do a dry and wet compression test if it's still running odd (if the recovery guy didn't do a compression test, he'll really know sweet FA).

A prayer to the God of Small Cars wouldn't go amiss.

i was going to give a thumbs up but recovery guy is only given enough time to do a quick perusal and then he must move to next job or he gets reprimanded by some tart in an office eating cake
