Has anyone else come across this - my local dealer are saying that an electrical fault within the airbag management system is not covered by the 3rd year dealer warranty? Does anyone have any documentation to confirm this?

BTW I kicked and screamed about paying £40 for a 10 minute wait for them to fix a loose cable to turn the light off and they let me have it, ("but not if it happens again" so I replied, " Well, if it's fixed, it won't need repairing again, will it?!")

I mean, duh?!

I had the same problem. It cost £30 to reset the service light if it is not a major fault. If there is a problem with the airbag it should be covered by the warrenty. Your warrenty is only valid if you have had your second or third service. I know cause i have just been caught out by this

I have looked further into this and Fiat documentation states...

"Subject to the terms and conditions you have the right to receive the following repair services at any appointed workshop belonging to the Fiat Service Network: Any defect due to faulty materials or workmanship during Manufacture which occurs during the 3rd year (or up to 60,000 miles from the date of first registration whichever comes first) will be replaced free of charge from labour and materials at the company’s option, if you take your car along to an authorised Fiat Dealer when the fault occurs."

I love it - "at the company's option", ie. if they don't fancy doing it!

Mind you, my local dealer's are prats. Ever since another local dealer went bust, they have taken on too much business and you are lucky if you can book anything in without a month's wait! (n)
