Evening all, I've got no headlights at all, no side or main beam just fog lights.....fuses, bulbs fine but there is no power going to the lights...... the back lights are all fine and working perfectly.....yesterday fitted a new rear cluster and since then the electrics in the car have been working much better....... ive heard of a grey box in the steering column that sometimes works loose....any ideas how to get to it?.......or anyone know of anything else it could be?? Thanking you!! :-D

Hi.

if fuses are good id look at the earth's.
if earths are all good then id suspect it as a faulty relay.

some one else on here had same problem a week back and it was a faulty relay
iirc.

Welcome to the forum btw.

keep thread updated and let us know how you get on. (y)

Hi thanks for replying, any ideas where the relay is..... in the engine bay box or steering coloumn?

the 2 pictures posted -
1 is the interior fusebox for the DIPPED headlights relay and fuses
The relay is what your after

Your going to need to pop it into the HI-BEAM Relay slot which is the 2nd picture of the ENGINE BAY FUSE BOX

What hopefully should happen is this

The Dipped beam lights now work again
the Hi-beam fail to function

This means 1 thing - a dud relay

If the fault doesn't move - Ie dipped STILL dont work, something else is wrong

Dont worry tho - both the dipped and hibeam relays are the same, so doesn't matter where they live :)

Running on 20V Dc setting yes?

So when you touch 1 terminal of the bulb and other on bat negatve = 0v
And the other terminal = 0v as well

I cant remember which terminal is which tho, i think the 1 headlight connection is the Negative, the single is the posi

Next using the multi-meter again, touch the twin wire side to battery negative set to Resistance Ohms Start high and work down till you get a reading
