Thanks Dave i really appreciate the quick response, I have one day to fit a new gear box coz im moving house tomorrow and need to cleat out the drive...

Cheers guys

but done what you said that part went well got the old box out which i will post some pics when i can my damn phone to send em right... Problem was getting the new one in on my gravel yard :cry:on my own as my father was the the only other person around however he has fairly advanced Parkinsons disease so was no help what so ever, i think the whole saga just stressed him out more than me:eek: Never mind though.. a mate is picking it up tomorrow on a trailer and were gonna stick up on a two poster to finish the job.

Its been years since i spent a day rolling around under a car and jesus i'm feeling it now...

well for what its worth i always take driveshafts out and leave inner joints in gearbox
this makes it much much easier to get the box back on especially with that long stud on the back
dogbone pulled out of way but left connected to subframe

Have a look at this the funny thing is that i was able to drive this and select all gears for nearly a mile until i could pull into a layby,

Anyone any ideas??there is a lot of debris inside the box from the casing...

ah well punto gearbox's are like the old BARR bottles you can get money back off them so dont fling it, ;)

Ebay or take it to weigh in as none-ferrous, thats what ido with them drain oil out first,

unfortunately no time for stripping it down to see what broke as house sold a supposedly exchanging contracts any day now... it amazing how much ****e you collect over the years
