hi folks
the rear exhaust heat shield on my daughters punto has rotted an needs replacing or fixing, it has 3 places where its secured to the underside of the car but because it is rotted I cant work out where the 4th securing point would be,
looked on ebay for a replacement but cant see any
had a look at Haynes manual but that shows not pictures of the heat shield
has anyone got picture or photos of the heat shield so I can work out where the fixings should be thanks

You can get away with not replacing it.

The holes round the fixings rot away as you've seen.


You might be able to find a large spider washer thing still attached to the car in one place.

Also, afaik, this is a dealer part.

Mines been loose fpr ages....

If you can find a replica material - make a new one as its soft and easily mould able but it wont affect the way the cars

its held in 3 places, but I cant see where the 4 holding postion should be
its held at 2 places on the front and rear outside (tyre side) but its the rear inside one I don't know, anyone have a photo so I can see where it should be held

IIRC, there's a pin to the offside of the backbox. on the underside of the car, with a large push on clip washer (it looks like a big spider). This might still be in place, mine was and the shield rotted round it.
