Hi all, I need to replace the exhaust manifold gasket on my 1.2 8v and would like a bit of info. Firstly do you fit this gasket dry? Secondly can I get away with only removing the manifold nuts and the bolt that connects the manifold to the gearbox, then pull it forward to slip the new gasket on? Sorry if it's long, thanks

YES and YES..,

unbolt the studs,
and it SHOULD slide forward..

been blowing has it..?? look for pitting /erosion.. if it's BAD some exhaust paste/ gungum may help..!!

I would dry fit only. New cats come with a warning not to fit exhaust paste upstream, or you can damage it.

YES, BUT if it's BAD then drawing air could do MORE harm..,

as I said - DRY is best..BUT you'll need it to seal..!!

more harm to the converter?

and / or exhaust valves..,

how can the exhaust manifold gasket affect the valves?










Do you have any hard facts, or are these assertions?
