Hi guys

Got the tools out this morning to have a thorough check over the Punto took all the spark plugs out all black full of soot noticed that one of the HT leads was not connected correctly it was fitted to the spark plug but loose at the top :bang: all going to be replaced. Ive noticed this red/orange paste to be all around the engine like the rocker but when i pulled the HT leads out it was on the end of them too  any ideas? the silencer is really rusty so that is being replaced and so is the mounting bracket as at the moment its held up with rope! As for the brakes when i press the pedal it sounds like i am standing on a hamster pads and discs are going to be changed, as for the fuel problem i was thinking of getting someone to come tune the engine make the throttle more responsive check over the ignition system anyone recommend anyone in the North West?

I doubt you have a fuel problem. See after below.

The red stuff is likely to be gasket sealant.

First priority after pads and disks is full service -- change all fluids, plugs and leads, air and oil filters.

After that, if you want to drag it over to Liverpool, I'll take a peek. Waste of your time/money beforehand, though.

That's one of the plugs they all looked like that and 2 of the leads were cracked and not 100% connected got some fuel treatment too put £50 in fuel from shell see what happens

Exactly cars running different now can feel the difference think the exhaust is blowing at the manifold or centre pipe going to check that out

I plan on, soon as my warranty is up . Don't want to give any reason I cant go back with problems. Also waiting for the weather to be more acceptable as I can't even change my thermostat currently :((n)

Make sure eveything is tickerty boo then before

So make sure its serviced well and that its all good to go :)
Spark plugs / HT's etc etc :)

On an n/a car, especially a stock engine, you won't get a lot for your money.

Turbos are a different kettle of custard -- the remappers just turn the boost up and increase the fuelling (and hope that the standard bits inside will -- ahem -- stay inside).

To get decent results you need to tune first, upgrade the soft standard bits, then remap. Or buy a lighter, faster car. Cinq Sporting, maybe?

Thanks and what sort of BHP increase did you get? Did they stick it on a dyno too?

no dyno mate,

tbh. icarnt be harsed with stuff like this, ijust wanted alittle bit more for the hills, extra 6- 8 horses id guess, not alot in it, most re map geeks will claim theres more init but..idont fall for the placebo effect..

ive rebuilt the engine on this so no horses are missing so im happy with it,

if iwanted serious power out of this it wouid cost more than the car is worth,

its just a punto, :)
