I bought new shock absorbers, top mountings and top bearings.
The broblem is that when I put all together, top mounting is loose.
Top mounting hole (23mm) is bigger than the shock absorber nut (flange is 23mm).
I can take away top mounting from the assembly.
Is this normal with aftermarket parts?
This is my top mounting and bearing:

It might seem an obvious question -- but are you sure you have the correct part(s) for your exact model of Punto...?

The only reason I ask is there seem to be a lot of warnings on the compatability chart for that eBay link?

If you're not sure, you can always Skype Big Mick at Eurocarcare.net -- he supplies internationally... -- with your chassis/VIN number; and he'll be able to give you the exact part numbers. You can also enter your VIN into ePER (in the middle of the blue bar, at the top of this page...). (y)

Not this.
Under this, there is nut and under it, there is the spacer.

Just in case this is still a concern for you.

There was no spacer between the first nut and the bearing on my 2005 car. the thin piece of rubber which is part of the thick top mount is crushed between the nut and the bearing. Structurally that bit of rubber from the mount cannot be doing much though. It is very thin. If it were missing what difference could it make?
