you would have to do the shake and vac to put the freshness back:D
or
when its fitted to the engine start the engine and see if engine rocks back then forwards as it picks up on its own power
this confirms mounting rubber past its best if it moves lots or in gear whilst checking from underneath

with mounting off you can only look for delamination

You can see the rubber mount is cracked (actually it's fully seperated) around the top left (on the big rubber mount). I had to replace this same part for a WOF (uk mot) a few years back - even though there wasn't really any need to - no excessive engine/gearbox movement. But I'd say while it's off might as well replace it - save added wear and tear on the other mounts.:)

cheers (y)

actualy the dog bone in the pic is not mine,
the one on my punto is fubar ican grab sump and push pull engine and you can see it gone,

iwas on the hunt on ebay ..and spotted that one in the pic and it didnt look right to me ,,so was just seeing what people thought ..

The real trick would be to build a jig from a new one, burn and blast the old one, and use a polyurethane resin to re-cast the innards, but it's much more work than Sikka or replacing with an OE one. For race use only!

im on the phone to alan sugar now:D

thanks for the ideas :D

infact iused to do that on peugeot lower engine mounts, sikaflex and bits of hosepipe :D

iwill have alook later..(google) see if there is any uprated ones for the punto,

well euro turned out to be waste of time,
they dont have any.. engine mounts :(

got one orderd. brand new oem part using forum deals thing on here,
worked out cheap,

+ cheaper than buying 2nd hand tat off ebay.. :)

I did mine on punto and stopped clutch juddering and exhaust banging, only thing to watch out for is getting the bolt out from the subframe they can snap though will be very tight had to use a long bar on mine,
when you get new one you will think its wrong or something is missing as the bolt is very loose in mounting hole ( 10mm bolt and 20mm hole) but this is how they are dont know why, even fiat dealer couldnt tell me why but you just have to nip them up, I bought a new bolt ( about £5 ) from dealer thinking it would be bigger but was same as what came out :D

ah well its fitted..what a nightmare getting that 18mm bolt out
broke 2 breaker bars, :bang:

went through a period of these breaker bars breaking
one nearly did me a bad injury
i really dont use mine in a situation where i dont know if it will break without warning anymore
i use short arm with scaffold pole in
impact gun
or a cracking bar on commercials

looked on the web and the wurth one looks good
my last one came from partco/brown brothers

aye true, these breaker bars aint too be trusted,
