I find city feels like you have no wheels, and you're turning nothing but the steering wheel :D, far too light. It's worth checking it works though just to be sure it won't have a knock on problem to the normal steering.

It's stated that it has a whole new steering column done by Fiat :)

Thanks for all the replies guys, I am going to give it a look and see but if anything seems odd then I won't hesitate to walk away, do NOT wan't to be ripped off!

He has assured me that the oil leak that caused this has been sorted and has said that the box was fine but seen as it had to be dismantled then it made sense to fit a new one?..sounds strange..also said the box was changed during during its last MOT a fair few hundred miles ago.

Thanks.

Ye so do I! The 2 I'm going to view are indeed yellow ;-) ohh btw one looks proper broom yellow while the other looks slightly less yellow, more 'faded', was there two types or has it faded?

Thanks.

Hi, just thought I'd ask here instead of a new thread, when replacing the timing belt, what do I need, I.e the actual parts not the tools..because I'm getting slightly confused as the timing belt kit comes with the belt and what looks like a pulley or bearing? Do I then need to but a tensioner separate to the kit?

The parts are listed here: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Fiat_Punto_1.2_2002/p/car-parts/engine-parts/belts-chains-and-tensioners/timing-belt-kit/?348771795&1&9484a2933e333b5a5fc74546a75bd673230ac8b1&000332

is it just this i need or is there something seperata, because im seeing loads of kits being advertised as coming with different pulleys, bearings and seals?

Thanks

Ive owned mine for coming up to 4 years now, generally good but in my opinion but from my experience and what others have told me look out for the following:

Misfire - these things seem to eat HT leads as they go down so deep in the head they get warm and fail.

Misifire#2 Coil packs tend to be troublesome can be dear enough t replace.

Gearbox: they don't like hard driving.

Rust: Look at leading edge of roof above windscreen often bubbles and water leaks in to drivers footwell.

Other than that even if left standard are a hoot to drive.

Good Luck

I plan to inspect the leads and test the coils, hopefully they're ok but will replace if needed.

Still getting used to the 6th gear :p

I will have a look there and keep an eye out thanks, looking to clean all the car up and seal it :)

Thanks.
