Hi,

Yes, potentially they could remove the dash Binnacle and place black tape over the warning lights (behind the bit you see) so that it appears they have gone out.

Ideally you could watch them plug in your car and "simply reset the faults"(id be very surprised if it is that simple in your case) or if thats not possible, you can check to see if they have covered the lights by checking when you first turn the key to MAR.

When you first turn the key to MAR (the position before you start the car) The ESP and EPS warning lights should come on and go out after a couple of seconds. If they do not come on, then they have been tampered with/ covered up.

Dont forget to tell them your horn is not working. Re setting the lights wont fix this. Not only is it an MOT failure but if stopped by police/ vosa you could be served a warning notice for an inoperative horn.
