I've recently bought a 1.2 2003 16v sporting punto for my Mrs. The fan didn't work but was assured it was just the fan selector switch. But whilst taking it apart to change we noticed all the small bulbs which light up the dials were blown and a extra electrical plug which didn't connect to anything. After changing them whilst it was stripped we realised that when you turn the fan settings the side light turn on! Along with the small bulbs, but when you turn headlights on via the steering collum the small bulbs go out?? With more investigating we found that ALL the cables have a voltage of 11.4. Also the heating fan wasn't fixed! Does anybody have any ideas please??? Not sure if it's related but we went to fit a radio for her but it's permanently on (doesn't turn off with ignition)

The radio is a seperate issue. Also look in the guides section for how to connect up an aftermarket stereo with an ignition switched live.

Alan your a life saver! I knew the resistor was a common fault as I had the same in her old vectra c, but was really worried with the lights. Fingers crossed that works and I'll try it out tomorrow. Thanks again John
