thanks for those images mate, should it then come off relatively easy? I think it'll be a worthwhile mod if the insurance isn't bumped up too much and i cna get a dash relatively cheaply.

Yeah shouid come out easy'
1hour or so removal and hour to refit, take time doing it thus taking care not to break any wires/plugs connector's.

ive changed afew to black with good old rattle cans. much less hastle ;)

Thanks mate but i've heard the paint just flakes off due to the type of plastic the punto dash is made of? Collecting a silver centre console and light panel switch for £10 this weekend then am thinking of spraying the original gloss black and seeing how that looks.

yeah it flakes off if its not done properly.
you need plastic primer and avery light sanding first so it keys in
or it will just flake off ..

still think i may go for the proper black dash as i have just had the car valeted and dont want spray paint everywhere

As said it'd only flake off if not done correctly, remember its all in the preparation.

Just dont inhale that stuff :D

insurance wouldnt know
just make sure you do the steery wheel nut back up tight
some have a lock ring so you need to knock the tabs down
just do it
you know you want to
easy job, dont forget to remove pass airbag too

battery off first job

Am waiting to hear tomorrow from someone that may have one. If its a reasonable price then I'll go for it and work on it over the weekend.

Of course battery off and switch the passenger air bag over to the new dash

Okay so I'll make sure that it has a sporting airbag with the dash and then can get hold of a sporting wheel and air bag combo
