Does anyone know if at tailgate off a mk2 3 door punto would fit onto a mk2b 3 door fiat punto as i have a 2005 mk2b fiat punto but my tailgate has a dent so i was just wondering if a mk2 would fit as i prefer the look without the big badge ?

they swap straight over so ive been told.
and ive seen mk2a with mk2b tailgate so it must be possible.
(as long is its not tailgate off 3 dr going on 5dr vice versa ithink they differ.)

I remember sandb saying that the 5dr has different mounts and mounting points so they will never fit

The mk2 is often put of to get rid of the reflectors built into the mk2b boot

Id be tempted to fit leds into mine eventually. ....

A 3 door mk2b boot lid will fit on a 3 door mk2, and vice versa (I've done it myself)

Either really. I see it as a lid to the boot therefore a bootlid

fair enough but i always saw a boot as a closed enviroment whereas a tailgate allows acces to the full interior

i see your logic

ie a saloon car with fixed rear seats = Boot lid

A hatchback / estate = Tailgate

tbh, i would have thought most knew whats what tho
IF they cant - they need shooting
