Hi ,

My punto started to stutter and i can feel less power at low rpm .
it makes strange noise from exhaust , like puff puff puff noise - Listen Here
maybe i can send URL to someone and he will post it here ?

I just replaced a week ago oil filter and oil (Shell 10W60) ...

maybe its the oil ? i always used 10w40 .

hope you guys can indicate the problem :worship:

sparkplugs/ht leads?

when where they last changed?

spark plugs replaced i think around 2009 , but i didn't do 40km ...
don't use the car that much .

since i bought the car in 2008 i didn't replaced ht leads ,don't know if ever replaced .

As for the file you sent me,
it sounds like you have a misfire, 2009 for ht leads,id change them
they aint cheap for 16v mind,

open the bonnet when its dark start the car,and watch the leads do you see any little sparks, if so theyre fubard.

no probs mate,

if youve got access to a spark plug socket take plugs out one at a time,
have alook at the plugs, what colour are they burning , Black. brown/sandy
or is one wet/oily , you will be able to work out which cylinder/s is down that way,

is this ok ?

Replace the leads, then the plugs.

Why, in the name of all that's Holy, are you running an engine designed for 10/40 on 10/60?

going off the 85 link wont open btw

id say theyre for mk1 16v punto but id asume theyd be the same,
best to check to seller to check /confirm,

best bet is local motor factors,that way if theyre wrong you can return for replacement or refund same day,

Buy some correct oil,
drain and re fill your self,.

Well ... i got some updates .

i found out the third cylinder was causing the problem .
so i went and got new ht leads and one spark plug (i just ordered 4 spark plugs from ebay so this one spark plug cost like those 4 , so i didn't want to spend more money , damn expensive in my country .)

so after i replaced this spark => check it .
i started the engine , and it sounded great and stable ,and just after 5 minutes its all got back ... the stutter and misfire .

so i guess gonna wait till i receive all spark plugs , and after i replace all ...if still got the problem , the coil is the next to go ?

or there is something else i can try ?

Check the timing, dry and wet compression test. All misfires are not electrical.

Any fault codes?

Well ... it was the coil .
