Technical Exhaust manifold nuts

I've never had to use heat - so far. Apply good penetrating release oil for a few hours. I use homebrew 50:50 acetone and atf or kerosene. Dont make them worse by using tools that will slip. Six point socket slips less. A sharp tap with a punch can free them up - the stud will come out. Sometimes an old undersize socket tapped on will give more grip. Just keep trying things with moderate effort. You might get better grip in the tightening direction and if it moves at all that can loosen it.

Penetrating oil, 6 point socket, chances are the studs will come out (but you can free them up with the old 2 nut trick -- soak in penetrating fluid overnight).

Generally you find that while the nut will seize onto the stud (both being steel) the stud won't seize to the aluminium alloy head.

If you use "real" heat you'll pretty much destroy any temper the nuts/studs have.
