Technical Mk3 CD/MP3 Player in a Mk2 Sporting

I have a 2002 Sporting with the standard MID tape player. Got hold of a Mk3 CD/MP3 headunit, from Fiat, but I cannot get it to communicate with the ECU - it will only display "CANCHECK"

The wiring was slightly different, and looking at the sticker on the tape player there were wires "CAN H" and "CAN L". The tape player won't work without these connected, so I assumed they need to connect to "CAN A" and "CAN B" on the new unit.

Anyone else tried fitting one of these and had any success?

Welcome to fiat forum, if you look at the list of forums you will see one called I.C.E (for anyone over 35 like me that means in car entertainment) there are some guys in there that know a lot about the subject, hopfuly you will get some good advice, sorry i can't help you more.
