for £1500 you can get a punto 1.3 diesel multijet which is about as good as fiat engines get. no messing about and returns 60+mpg with £30 a year road tax

Same engine that vauxhall fitted to there Astra, corsa, and many other vehicles too!

Brothers engine is a right horse, it pulls soo well for a heavy astra!

As above, buy a complete car.
Changing the engine from another vehicle will be a lot of work, including wiring looms, ECU, etc.
Front suspension will be stiffer for the diesel/van, so the whole front legs will need swapping, plus the brakes may be bigger. Then you have to tell DVLA and make sure that gets registered correctly, then tell the insurance company, who will then have to compute a new premium based on it being a special.

I have a punto mk2 1.2, 106k on it,
Starting to burn oil as well, so iw as wondering if i could do some heart surgery on it, Its a really nice car, just needs some tlc, ill upload pictures later on
