Technical Where is the temperature sensor 8v with cam sensor

Please could someone tell me where the temp sensor is on my 2002 8v Mk2 Punto (the one with the cam sensor) I'm going mad. I've changed a gearbox on a Sei before, done a couple of guides on centos but for the love of *** I can't work out where the sensor is.

I've read the threads on here that say there is no coolant sensor, it's on the inlet manifold, yet the only part I can find to buy online is a coolant sensor.

The only candidates I can see is a two wire sensor on the right hand side of the engine as you look at the car, just near the throttle body but I'm not convinced.

Please help me out by describing what I should be looking for I'm clearly losing brain cells as I get older.

Biggest clue would be follow the coolant lines

But glad you found it

Now you asked where it is - what points you to a failed CTS?

Yeah, I'd read a post which I interpreted as meaning it wasn't actually a coolant sensor which I thought was very odd. i would probably had found it straight away if I hadn't convinced myself this was some unusual type of sensor I'd never come across!

Didn't find my fault either regrettably
