My old ibiza did this its something to do with the power steering on that. I got rid of that before I figured it and got my gp haha. A few people said it was something in the power steering pump for me. Could be that for you too

Hope that helps in any way

It won't be the steering pump as the Punto has an electric motor instead Sam.

OP, care to expand on squeak, is it a long screeching, or a juddering squeak etc?

Might possibly be the top mount bearings if a juddering sound.

Its just a slight screeching like if you had squeaky breaks when breaking lightly, if im driving down a straight road its fine with no squeak but if whilst driving down the straight road a gently turn the wheel to the left or the right I get the noise but if I turn it a decent turn it doesnt squeak, it only does it when making slight adjustments

So it wont squeak when dry steering

but it does when moving, which is odd, because you would have thought most stress is when you dry steer

Anyway
My guess its possible the Top mount or bottom ball joint
I sugest a little dribble around the top mount and let it soak in - if the noise changes it could forwell a failing top mount bearing

If it changes when you do the bottom
The ball joint MAY have seized, and its pivoting on the spindle, instead of the spindle spinning
