On top of the engine there is a small hole. you can feel air comin out when u run your finger over it and it looks as if oil has been pissin out it at some point. Any ideas. ps my air filter has been replaced by a k&n. does this have anythin to do with it?

FFS, this is going to get like puntosports/puntoforum with lowtechguy and that other one constantly pushing those bloody GSR kits.

A K&N DOES make a difference, and I should know, I've got one! You may get more bhp from the enclosed kits, but a K&N is a s**tload cheaper and you can always knock up a cold-air feed and heat shield out of sheet metal and perspex for about £5 (like wot I'm going to do).

My thoughts exactly...

It seems that people forget that they are all similar designs. The GSR type induction is like have a the k&n filter on the end of some tubing.

However, of course everyone has their own opinion on this. IMO the k&n gives better gains for the price.

Although i don't have a 16v engine i presume that this is part of the crank case breather system and the air ( & oil vapour ) that is coming out would normally be piped into the stanadrd Air filter assy to be burnt during induction. ??

:yeahthat:

With enough cold air getting to it, theyre fine. I used to love taking my 8v right to the limiter with the K&N fitted. They are by no means crap.

My F10i seems to do the job just fine. I've had a K&N + a BMC CDA and yes the CDA was far better than the 57i but the F10i is in a leaague of its own. When you hit 5000rpm on that kit it sounds like you going up the mulsanne straight.

Expensive yes, but in my eyes the best piece of kit i have ever used despite what people say.
