Hello all im glad to be here, I have a strange clutch problem and it goes like this, when putting the clutch down and selecting gear,or moving away from neutrel the car is fine no probs, but when im in traffic and the clutch is being moved up and down or the clutch is held down for a while the bitting point gets further and further down,to the point where i only have to move it a few a tiny bit to move,.Im sure the car has been creeping forward on its own a couple of times when the clutch was fully pressed down too.Normal gear selection is good,so i got a starnge feeling its either the master or slave cylinder, ive had a good look at them both and even bled the slave, but it's made no difference,is there any way to tell which one if any is faulty? many thanks guys...nigel

go for easy option first
the slave
easy to do and a £10 in a junkyard if you sweet talk the owner and his dog
about £45 new i seem to remember

My bets on Slave as well
I remember it appearing on wheeler dealer, the pedal ebs away as you sit in traffic
it gets hot and fluid starts to seap past the seal

you move forward it cools and the pedal returns

They are pretty straight forward to replace without removing anything
But removing battery tray does help :)
