Okay, been searching on here for some answers but can't seen to find one.

I've never been on motorway before other day so I've only noticed this problem once before on a back road. When i went over 75mph my engine management flashes on and off and when i drop under 60mph it goes off again.

As I've never been on motorway before i hadn't noticed it, and people drive too slow on normal roads to get fast enough:bang:, only had it once before like i said.

I'm thinking it might be the fuel filter, it's the only thing on my car that isn't new! I'm thinking its clogged up and not letting enough fuel in when the cars needing it.

Anyone think this or got any ideas?:worship:

My dads got one of those computers to read codes so hes gona check, but all the HT leads are brand new and checked, its not having the same problem when its revving high in low gears, and all the cam shaft is brand new and had timing belt just done.

would no one consider the cam sensor is reading different to the crank sensor then

90% there. (y)

If the self adaptive parameters aren't reset after disturbing the cambelt, and the phonic wheel learn performed (cam and crank sensor sync), then the engine management will detect a false generic misfire at 3k+ in higher gears- ie motorway driving.

Even if the belt lines-up perfectly on it's timing marks, there's a subtle difference in where the ECU expects the signals to be every time the belt is slackened and retightened. A misfire event causes the two signals to be slightly out from what the ECU knows is correct, so it flags up the error, and if it repeatedly happens on the same part of the ignition cycle, it works out on which cylinder the fault is present.

This is one of those common faults which crops up repeatedly on the forum. ;)
