Had a look at this and it's the bolt that helps to hold the door into place when the door open and closes the bolt moves and catches onto the fitting, doesn't affect anything it's just one of those things to fix, although I'm not sure what to do, the bolt looks loose but I can't tighten it anymore, il see if I can get a video or pics to show you guys

your refering to the Check Strap that prevents the door from over opening like in the wind to a degree

Common im affraid to click
My passenger snap clicks quiet badly, where as normally its the driver side thats the problem as its used alot more

Some you can tighten - some you cant im affraid is abit mix and match

The best bet is try and tighten IF you can
if you cant its a replacement required unless you can fabricate a new pin or bushing to take away the slack

Tried everything on mine... -- and failed.... So have just bought a pair for the front doors from Eurocarcare. Just waiting for a warm day, now, to fit them....

Backs are also starting to go... -- but are (yet) nowhere near as bad.

the bit that wears ie the pivot is a stepped joint so the only way to get round it it to grind it out and replace with a bolt and nyloc nut but this causes the door to obviously be harder to shut as you have to nip these up fairly tight
to summarise
buy a new one if it drives yer nuts
