Hi there,

I have a mk2 3dr punto 1.2 8 valve, It had a small oil leak and i was advised that it was the rocker gasket,

I have replaced it and it is still leaking, i looked underneath and it is really thick oil on the bottom of the sump, could it be that the oil sump is leaking?:bang::bang:

Could be a relief valve weaping dripping down
Oil filter
Sump
Who knows?

Clean it up and observe where its coming from

Thick oil = Oil left really long
Or Oil + Everything off the road

Hello,

First of all, as was mentioned, clean the front of the engine up. Then put a picture of your leak on the forum for us to see. I too had a leak that I thought was a rocker cover failure but it was not. Throw up a photo and I will advise you if it is the same problem that I had.
