Hi Guys,

Are there any easy ways to see the precise coolant level? It's very dark in there, and topping it up isn't as easy as some cars. I did it by shining my trusty Lenser P7 into the side and getting it in the middle, though Max is only about an inch from the top of the cylindrical part isn't it?

What are the little tips to see exactly what your doing?

P.S. The landie, you just filled it to the top and any excess would come out the overflow pipe.

Just fill it in until you can see a bit of coolant level trough the pipe on the top of cylindrical part as you described - that's max level.

getting a nice bright torch helps no end
As said - shine it through one side of the bottle and you should see the coolant inside of it glowing so to speak

Red is a dead easy to spot one

Blue i guess can look dark at times,

green should be okay to see

So hold the light at the side - and shake the filler nozzle a lil - look for where the water is sitting

the max level on most is about 3 to 4cm from the filler neck
Some its On the filler neck (not many tho)

get a twig off the old estate (see james if busy)
mark it on the outside so it lines up with filler neck and max mark on side of radiator
remove filler cap and insert twiggy into the orifice

Iv got this little LED torch, i shine it down through the bottle like put it where the screw lid goes and it shows the level bang on
