i have just baught a central locking kit upgrade of ebay. i have a punto mk2 with central locking and this is for a reote one. has anyone else got a kit and done this. i have a few probs because i dont really understand the instructions. if any one has done it could you please help thanks.

I bought one a week ago and have fitted it fine, is it a META remote central locking kit (the one with the yellow relay with a wire coming off it)?

I have a mk1 Punto and you simply go into the glove compartment and in the top of it you will see a flap that comes down when you move a plastic stopper. This is easy to do so take a look.

In here is the yellow central locking relay simply remove the exsisting one and replace with the new one.

The new central locking system does not affect anything, and the key can still be used to lock and unlock the vehicle.

The instructions; these were a bit dodgy as they only show pictures and contain no writing, i think its so they didnt need to print them for different languages.

Update!

I've had a look at the item you purchased on eBay (which is where i purchased mine) and this is the META kit (these are genuine Fiat kits made by META).

So simply read the instructions i have written in the previous reply (about removing and finding the yellow relay - find this above).

PS: these are an excellent purchase and work from a great distance too.

no i think its diffrent on a mk2 punto, because the wires seem to go in the fuse box where the coin tray thing is.

yeah you cant use those plug in ones on a mk2 you need a proper wired one.

Ohh other than that it looks quite similar,

i htink i got it now. the instructions are a bit dodgy. it tells you to join wires but you dont need to. gonna av a go at it today. but if anyone has done it it would be help full thanks
