Technical Problems

Hey
i was driving the other day and all of a sudden my engine managemt light came on aswell as power steering light and my speedo stopped working aswell as all my lights inside and out of the car.

i stopped, turned engine off couldnt find anything weird or abnormal
started it up again 5 mins later and it had all gone and everything was working?

then it happened again about 20 mins ago when i wanted to go out?

any ideas??

Best guess, bad earth (clean up the ends of the main engine bay eaths, scratch bright, coat with silicone grease and re-attach) or filthy/loose battery connectors (clean and tighten up).

oli ive had problems with my mk2 cutting out on me,wen it cut out i had to wait about 3 mins before it would start. i got a new fuel pump fitted this morning and its never stalled..hopefully ive solved my problem. i was wanting to change the fuel filter but on the mk2 its built into the fuel pump itself so had to replace the full unit. it maybe the same with yours. i paid a tenner for the pump and only took 15 mins to fit. anyway good luck with yours...you never know.

Sounds like a little electrical spike there

Ensure the battery is secure and that none of the Thick Red power leads are rubbing on the body allowing it to earth out badly
