hi just joined the forum and its been very helpful so far . my main worry with the car is when i release the clutch there is a sort of rattle/grind noise , and when driving , its not massively loud but i was informed it may be a bearing and ideas or should i just replace the clutch ,thank you

It's probably the gearbox input shaft bearing. Replace the bearing and the seal (guide in the Guides). Since it's a gearbox off job, it makes sense to replace the clutch while you're at it.

What sat at idle - can you hear it?
Does the noise go away when the clutch pedal is pressed? (clutch disengaged)

Sits under 1000 revs it ticks over fine but yes it goes when the clutch is pushed in ..
