Can you please help.
I own a 2003 fiat Punto 8valve active. When I return to my car after a trip out The inside of the car smells of petrol fumes. It is not that bad, but you can smell it. Is it a breather pipe and if so where is the pipe. I would appreciate any advice on sorting it out. Thanks in advance.

Over filled the tank?
done that a few times - have to wait for the tank to drain down from use

But its not uncommon for the breather to split from the tank and fumes ponder around the car and into the cabin

I had my cambelt changed the other day on my 2001 8v punto and had this problem. Under the airbox there is a wide black pipe that re-uses exhaust fumes from the engine and puts it back into the air intake. Make sure this is not loose or off completely. :>

Petrol is a distinct smell

Oil is a different smell - but i guess people can mistake it
The pipe is a poor fit - alot are like it

Thanks all for your help. Not quite got around to it yet but where does the breather pipe go to?

no there isn't, there is one that recirculates crank case gasses, no exhaust gasses get recirculated on a petrol mk2
