Was just wondering if anyone could help me and give me some sort of insight into a problem that happens to me every now and then.

The problem I seem to encounter is when I attempt to start the car by turning the key, the key seems to like lock. I don't know why it happens but it does so any advice or help would be great. Thanks guys!

I don't know the reason why (an anti-theft measure perhaps?) but sometimes the steering wheel locks into place if turned when the ignition is off. The key won't turn whilst the steering wheel is locked like this.
You have to turn the wheel whilst turning the key in the ignition.

Either that or your ignition barrel is possibly on its way out

Think it might be an anti theft thing then! It does it every once in a while and then eventually it just turns! Thanks for your help bud!

Like jmckee4 says, all cars do it -- some more than others. Just wiggle the steering wheel while turning the key and it'll work.

Mine does it more often than not when I start the car whether the steering lock is on or not. It could be that your key or ignition barrel is worn. In my case is the key.
