New winter tyres, hub measurements are the same, but the original hubs have little spikes on behind the hub cap, which helps guide it on. Is there anything i can do other than get my money back? pics to follow...

Here is the hub with the locators,

The new has no locators, just the four bolt holes.
The locators themselves on the disk center look like they are rusted on,
will get a spanner a give it a good tug

they have 2 uses
1 to help align the wheels onto the car so that you can quickly put a wheel on and off

2 help keep the Disc bolted to the hub

When you bolt your wheels onto the hub it clamps the disc anyway, so there is no difference really to what the little pegs do

Just makes things a little easier thats all

thats a wheel rim not a hub, a hup is the bit on the car a wheel bolts too. just take the pins out, 12mm spanner or mole grips if they are too tight. they are only there to help you fit a wheel, loads of people remove them

Thanks ;) the 12mm worked a treat

Thanks Ziggy!

(your avatar Re: MPG, we managed 130mpg (going down a slight incline) for 5 or so minutes behind a truck, but on average about the same )
