Posts: 8 Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: 0 ![]() | Error Code Help Hi guys, I have read the error codes on my ladies 1.2 16v Punto Sporting. The results are: READING ERROR CODES: 1: P1135 - Preheating resistance 1 above catal. The O2 Sensor Heater circuit is faulty; possibly an open or a short to ground. Since the sensor is heated by the exhaust gases only, the sensor reaches the operating temperature slightly slower than normal, and may cool down too much during cold idle conditions to provide a valid signal for the fuel system closed loop operation. Check the O2 sensor heater circuit and relay, resistance and driver circuit for opens, shorts and weak connections, and ensure the proper voltage supply (usually the white wires). The reason for this fault is that ECU has received invalid signal from the sensor. The fault is not detected now, but it is stored in memory. Clear fault codes, and observe for future appearance of the same fault. Dashboard warning light was activated for this fault. 2: P0300 - Ignition failures (generic) Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected The reason for this fault is that ECU has received very high signal from the sensor. The fault is present now. Take appropriate action to fix this sensor fault. Dashboard warning light was activated for this fault. 3: P0303 - Cylinder 3 ignition failures The Emissions Monitoring system has detected misfires, an Air/Fuel mixture problem or other indicators of emissions exceeding the permissible level. Check the plugs, ignition and fuel system, and the engine mechanical condition, and that the oil level is not too high, or oil change overdue. Defects contribute also to O2 sensor degradeation and premature catalytic converter efficiency loss The reason for this fault is that ECU has received very high signal from the sensor. The fault is present now. Take appropriate action to fix this sensor fault. Dashboard warning light was activated for this fault. 4: P0304 - Cylinder 4 ignition failures The Emissions Monitoring system has detected misfires, an Air/Fuel mixture problem or other indicators of emissions exceeding the permissible level. Any ideas where to start? New spark plugs? New coil? Where do I find the O2 heat sensor? Thanks in advance! All help appreciated! P.s. Further info/symptoms: - Rough idle & reluctant to start - Engine light flashes at speed, around 60-70mph - Occasionally engine light remains on - Tappety noise when under load and accelerating between 30-50 So far have changed oil and intend to have a look at cleaning the throttle body - although these results suggest that probably is not the cause!

Will have the spark plugs out and have a look at their health! Will try running with the bonnet open - good idea. Does the Punto have shared coils? I.e. does one supply cylinder 1 and 2, and does the second supply cylinder 3 and 4?
