HI,i tried to replace brake fluid today mk2 punto, but the 7mm ring spanner was slipping on the bleed nut,the 6mm is too small, and yeah 8mm too big.
But when i tried a 7mm sockett it opened,so i need a 7mm RING spanner to fit,
cant understand why my 7mm ring spanner is slipping!!!!

Either or both. Bleed nipples are notorious for corroding and going undersize and most 7mm stuff is not as tight so you never notice the spanner going oversize until it goes up against the undersize nipple. Tools wear out but tbh some cheapo stuff was never right to start with.

Or another trick is to file two opposite sides down slightly on the bleed nut so that your (nominal) 6mm spanner is a good fit.

This works a treat

Often, with a corroded nut, you have to take care to put on the right size. What feels like the right size can be a size too big, the gap being filled with swollen rust and rubbish. Then you find you've rounded the nut off.

Real answer is somewhere between them.

The reason the socket grips and the others do not is probably because the socket has 6 flats, the nipple 6 flats and the ring spanner 12. You can buy 6 sided ring spanners specifically for bleeding brakes.

Remember, though, that the bleeding process doesn't call for the nipple to be rammed home (as it would when the job is done) just tight enough. As a temporary measure before you get your Xmas present, S&B's tip works fine.
