Hi Guys,

Posted alot recently; had numerous issues - first it was clutch, then the thermostat and then the sparks/leads.

Just thought I'd get a second check as I'm about to drive about 75miles and don't want to get stranded along the way!

The Problem:

My poor Punto seems to still be slightly misfiring - despite the garage doing a HG pressure check (came back fine), and replacing the Sparks/Leads. - This only happens at a standstill and on LOW revs.

I've recently replaced the thermostat - wasn't a hard job, but its drained about 3 litres of 50/50 anti&water. I've been topping up each day; but it still seems to go down... I've checked for leaks - and nothing is leaking as far as I can see - but I do hear the occasional gurgling sound when I turn my engine on.

Since replacing my thermostat, my temperatures fine; no problems with that, doesn't overheat, literally stays at midway during all speeds.

Anyway; I've currently got it at the garage at the moment, hoping they can figure out the cause - anyone have a quick diagnosis as they've said they MAY not get me in today but I need to travel!

Hi Guys,

I forgot to mention;

When i first got the sparks checked - they said I had wayyyy to much oil in and it had to be removed; I know I put oil in and probably put way too much as it was the first time I myself have done it;

but seeing as I think I'm losing water/coolant - do you guys reckon its going into the oil - via the HG and thus I'm running like sh** (the bucking/kicking) at standstill?

It makes sense, but they checked the pressure of the HG and said it was fine - unless they were bsing...

Cheers

400 Quid is double steep, he must of saw you coming!

If you don't want to do it yourself buy all the parts and phone around including mobile mechanics and get the best price just for the labour.

You will halve the total cost doing it this way!
