Hi all,

When people get into my mk2 they normally think it's locked as the door is really hard to open, like its sticking.

Any one know what the problem could be with that/ had this themselves?

I've tried WD-40 which was my one and only guess haha.

My cars got exactly the same lol, I put it down to the rubber seal around the door sticking or getting an air lock or something :S

Problem: rust
Had it: yes

If its a 3 door these are big long and very heavy doors and they tend to sag a little, the door can get stuck on its own catch when closed.

I had a similar problem which was cured by having a play with the catch on the door shut to get it just right

as said they are very heavy and if worn on the inges specifically the bottom ones wear then this causes stiffness too

You're probably right there. I ahve some rust along the bottom of both sides of the car and a little where the windscreen meets the roof in the corner :/

do not ignore the rust, particularly near the sills, you could be looking at an MOT fail soon, with an unbearable repair cost

I am getting round to it, Not totally sure what to do though lol.

remove rot, make good as appropriate, paint and underseal

Easy right?
