thinking about installing a electric switch for the boot release, which once i have an alarm installed will help that also

havent done it but it should be real easy to do as the solenoid can literally be as big as necessary seeing as you would fit it in the boot rather than in the tailgate

i have seen universal kits on ebay....

i wondered if all puntos were cable, or weather there was actually a car that you can remove the parts from at the scrap yard

i would use a door solenoid from say a corsa b as they are quite beefy and im sure would be more than capable to pull the catch
no puntos ive ever had have had electric boot release but it is quite simple to fit as i say and you could wire it to work quite easily from a who flung dung chinese import remote central locking if you can wait for the slow delivery and all in charge of £9 or less

There is plenty of room to put a actuator in there tho to pull the cable holder

am i reading this right?
its only worth it if you open the tailgate from outside?
to put say shopping in the boot maybe?
or are you suggesting passengers need to disembark from tailgate?

The inside - you have a boot release - no real use if your inside the car....

Only handy if you plan to put stuff in the boot from shopping etc
