Hi Guys, got a problem with the Mrs's 2004 Punto Active Sport 8v.

Car was stolen (keys stolen from house), but recovered soon after with no damage.

Decided to change locks in case they came back again.

Bought a 2nd hand lock set with correct numbers, together with the matching fuse box, body brain and ECU.

Changed all locks including ignition barrel, everything works fine except the display panel on the clocks flashes. It stops after about 20 mins, but flashes everytime you start the car.

I was warned when I purchased the lock set etc that this may happen, and that I'd need the matching clocks too. I didn't want to do this as the car has only done 12,000 miles.

Can this be cured through programming, or this proxy alignment I've read about? Or do I have to buy the matching clocks and pay to have the mileage 'corrected'.

I have searched, but this happens when others have changed the clocks, whereas I have changed everything else bar the clocks.

Any help gratefully appreciated. (y)

The Dash is coded into the engine ecu and fusebox as well

But the flashing indicates that proxy alignment needs to happen
An Auto-Electrician do that as well a full version of FES

There is a way of just changing the locks and getting the new lock set keys copied to blanks and the blanks then been programed into the car

Since the new keys will be in sequence with the Body computers and the old keys arent
The old keys wont OPEN or start the car :) sorted :)
