General Thinking of buying this

the punto mk2 bodyshell is one of the strongest ive ever worked on in a smaller car especially the front end
those braces might look dandy, but in a standard shell would do nothing in my opinion
buy for looks by all means not for gusset strength they arent needed

Struts make a difference but you would need to be cornering on one wheel before you would notice it and those aren't struts , too thin and not straight , more like decorations.

are you sure? most people who fitted a strut brace on a mk2 said they felt the difference, ive read up on other posts

trust me they arent needed
i can put my dozer on a front turrett and it will lift the car before it would move the leg

The bottom one probably does some useful work (at the expense of ground clearance -- I'd not use one on a road car). The top one? You'd do better welding brackets to the strut tower and fitting a bar to suit.

I'd bet that you can measure torsional distortion long before they have any real effect, so you'd be better off membraning, or even seam welding and foam filling, the sills.
