Hey guys, timing chain tensioners have failed, is there likely to be any valve damage when it went.

It went as i was starting the car up so it was doing high revs at the time.

Any help would be greatly appriciated cheers
:)

Cheers for the reply - I've managed to strip most of it -
Looks like the tensioner is ballsed up so i'll have to get a new timing kit - The chain had 'grown' for lack of a better word, there was a lot of play in the linkages. I've just taken the injectors out now - Managed to bend a 1/2inch steel bar in doing so too!! Do you know of anywhere where i can find a cylinder head diagram or stripping instructions. I've scoured about but can't find much. If you know of anything that'd be the biggest help!?

Cheers! :)

cant help but i am curious if you can indulge me please?
what mileage did it go at assuming its not been clocked
and would you say the chain stretched due to poor oil changes regime
thanks

its like any diesel engine head as far as i'm aware, if worried about getting it all back together then make sure you take loads of digital photos for reference.

i would also be interested to know the mileage and would love a pic of the tensioner as it sounds like something i need to be aware of on my little multijet
