Hi everyone.
Got a bit of a problem. Punto SX60. 1998. . I've noticed that in slow traffic the temp shoots up only to go down when on the move. Did a bit of investigating and noticed the fan isn't cutting in. Has anyone got any ideas of common problems? Any wiring details would be gratefully accepted.
Thanks in advance.

I dont like to be the bearer of bad news but this happened to mine and I foundout it was the head gasket, it had blown and wasnt cheap to fix (n). Hopefully im wrong and its just a fuse, just giving you a warning. Hope all goes well.

Whilst investigating the cause of my Heater/Ventilation fan not working a few months ago i discovered that it shares the same p/n and model of Relay as the radiator fan.
I substituted the radiator fan relay for the 'suspect' heater one and hey presto the Heater fan worked and the fault transposed over to the radiator fan, so i bought a new relay - problem solved. This proves that these components can 'go bad' .
I would also look into the Relay as part of your fault diagnosis for this problem. The relays are usually mounted on one of the fuse boxes , mine where both on the Engine bay fuse box IIRC.

Hope this helps.
