I don't want to sound condescending but.... Have you tried turning them off?

As with a lot of European cars if not turned off the lights will turn on and off with the ignition that way you can't leave them on and drain the battery.

thanks for the reply, yeh first thing i checked!, i know what you mean so dopey people about!, i checked the stork, with the lights turned OFF on the stork, the lights are on with no dash speedo lights etc, but if you turn the lights on, on the stork i get my light on dash/speedo

They may have wired past a problem in the cabling, grounding the earths off the sidelamps somewhere. Check for a splice in the wiring looms?

LOL:D I honestly can't resist, but did the "stork" not fly away when you touched it.

Paul, you cheered me up....:D

Take a look at the cabin fuse box behind the pannel by the drivers knee,

Problems with the body computer can cause problems with the functioning of the lights. This may mean you have a body computer problem or it could mean someone has bypassed the body computer to fix an issue.

I actually nearly went up the back of a mk2 yesterday with a faulty body computer as the brake lights and indicators were not working properly
