I am planning to do a basic service prior to my MOT (also have a lumpy idle) and this is my list:

HT Leads
Spark plugs
Air filter
Oil filter
Oil
Coil pack (if needbe)

could anyone recommend the best parts for the job as i dont really have the funds for OEM ones. I think Bosch are the best spark plugs but can others give me some advice

what ever the local motor factors has in

NGK are what fiat use as original plugs

your probably going to need a 12mm alan key for the sump plug

I prefer NGK, BWTH. Local factors -- GM or Lucas semi-synth 10/40 will be fine (assuming 8v).

it is 8v thanks for that, my dad's mate is going to do the oil filter and oil change as ive never done it before. I've ordered philips lightbulbs (50% extra ones), an oil filter and bosch spark plugs and HT leads all for £66 delivered which i didnt think was bad.

Gonna do the lot in one go along with the rocker cover gasket next weekend weather pending of course

which oil should i go for for my 1.2 8v punto?

What oil (brand) really matters much much less than oil and filter (how often).

Magnatec is OK, but any 10-40 semi-synth that meets the spec will be fine.

Incidentally, I'd not replace the coil packs unless they were faulty.

Cheers fingers, i've already done the air filter, spark plugs and HT leads, aiming to do the oil & oil filter next...

I'll give the coil packs a miss then, put the money i'd save towards a full valet (£65 just up the road from me) once i've had my mot done.
