Hi all, I need some advice.

Few things have happened in the last weeks.

I know there's a few threads on power steering so sorry to start a new one :(

The power steering has been cutting out on our 2003 Punto Active,
I can hear a grinding noise coming from the motor on the steering column.
Not being mechanically minded, a Joiner by trade I'm willing to give this a go and try to fix it myself.
Can anyone recommend where to source this part, how difficult it is going to be and really any general tips on how to tackle this.

Also the wiper blades are cutting out, some times they work fine, but most of the time you have to push the wiper arm to "up" to clear the screen.
Thinking I have to replace the motor and linkage arms, once again any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

And lastly......I hope.
The horn has stopped working, the brown wire has broken off close to the sealed adapter that pushes on to the horn not leaving enough wire to simply re-join, can this unit be purchased?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.............and PHEW!

Thanks for the reply fingers99..........I'm I being naive to think it's simply a matter of unbolting then replacing part for part?

You can probably buy the connector and pins, but it'll all need fitting up. Cheaper to find a connector at a scrappy, cut it off with enough cable, solder and heat shrink. Most of the connectors are generic, so supply should not be an issue.

I usually pay Mark (my scrappy) a quid or so, or take the dog a new ball................

Of course, the alternative is to fit a generic horn, but that'll cost you 5 or 6 quid

Sorry fingers99,

It's the steering motor/ wiper motor, why would you stay away from attempting them?
