Hi all,

Just upgraded to a Mk2 facelift punto (53 plate, 8v 1.2)

When idling after about 10-15 seconds the revs will drop from 800 where it seems it should sit when idling, to 600, this causes a rumble that can be felt through the car and also at the same time the headlights/interior light if on dims as the revs drop, then picks up again as they increase, if left to idle it will jump from 800-600 constantly, spending about a second on each.

The problem is only when idling and everything is nice and smooth as soon as the gas is on.

Can anyone tell me what these should idle at and any possible solutions?

could be alternator belt slipping.
Check to see if its tight.

Sounds like your loosing power but its just enough to keep the car going.
