went to a fiat garage yesterday.asked the female assistant about ecu's she had this vacant expression on hert face but as soon as i asked about putting it on the diog machine she suddenly smiled and said that will b £60 plus vat.dont c that i have any option as they only peeps with the software for the older model ec's (94).they r nothing but rip off merchants.BBC should make a programme on dealer rip off garages :yuck: .....wot u think?????

check ur local yellow pages, i found a place near me that does ECU diagnostics - cost me around £20 i think
take it to another dealer, i wasnt quoted that much by my local dealer when i asked

Think(?)its Marelli 59F system,take it you checked the system relay/injection fuses & intertia switch(we've all done it )I can send you pin designations so you can check ECU in/outputs if you want?

If it is Marelli I.A.W.59F system (are you sure it has this system TJS? it should say on it) then because of CODE means units cannot be interchanged.
Need to know exactly all numbers on the ECU.

Sounds to me that either a main feed gone down to ecu or an earth. Never heard of ecu do that, unless been jump started or been to a bodyshop. AA will probably not be able to read code as AA only read EOBD 'P' codes. Remember Some Fiat Dealers Its worth the 60 notes, some Its better they give you 60 notes as they dont have a clue..
