Now before anyone goes off on one ive searched and read MANY threads and none of them answer my question and none of the remedys fix it!

So....

i have no heaters inside the car, the heat dribbles through but the fan doesnt power it through.

Ive checked the resistor - its fine.
Ive checked the fan motor - its fine.
Ive checked all the fuses - there ok.
Ive changed the fan speed switch - made no difference.

the only thing that seems strange is that relay To8 makes a ting ting ting noise when its removed and put back in.

I dont know what would cause this and it does it when i try diferent relays on it, that is the only thing i can think o that doesnt seem quite right.

Also when the heater is switched to '0' the lights behind the dials turn off but as soon as i change it to 1,2,3,4 the lights are back on but no heat blows through, not even on setting 4.

What the hell is wrong?

Right I really hate posts like this

If you have checked the resistor the fan the switch and the fuses then their is either no fault (which clearly there still is) or you've missed something out? Now what do you mean by checked? Was it merely present or did you actually check power too/from or continuity check through each part of the system?

As for 'tinging' relays that's what a relay does you add power it makes an electrical connection and a ting noise
So you have successfully shown the relay works how do you know anything else is ok?

what i mean is ive tested parts from my brothers punto on mine and vice versa.

I have now solved the problem it was a melted earth connection inside a connector block near the fan.

and here was your clue for 7:D
Also when the heater is switched to '0' the lights behind the dials turn off but as soon as i change it to 1,2,3,4 the lights are back on but no heat blows through, not even on setting 4.

how did you change the earth in the block connector??? i have the same problem with my punto but can not seem to get the block connector apart to look at the state of the earth wire.. please help!!?!?
