Hello everybody, I am new to this site and this is my first posting. I am planning on fitting new pads and discs to my 2001 Punto jtd. This will be a weekend job and I am trying to make sure that I will have no nasty suprises. Could anyone tell me if it is an easy job to remove the pads and discs and will I need any special tools such as torx sockets or Alan keys.

Think it's just spanners and sockets on them. Calipers usually have metal clips to remove pads, then socket to remove caliper completely.
Spanner to remove disk. Should be same locating pins as the petrol models I presume.

I remember using torx bits to remove a disk but i think that was on citreons. Fiats have the pins to help position wheels easier. Its these that hold the disk on

you will need a torque wrench and it is wise to renew the caliper bolts; give the slots that the the pads sit in a really good clean preferably with a wire brush on an electric drill; conflicting opinions on whether to put grease in them; I don't; also worth replacing the flexible hose while you are there.....

Thanks for the info, I have now got the discs and pads so I will be performing saturday morning. Thanks again.(y)
