i have just had the head gasket changed on my mk2 fiat punto 2001... it was leaking water and oil everywhere, just got it back yesterday and when i got home today (i dont drive to collage) i noticed yellowy browny liquid on the floor... does anyone know what this is? nothing in the coolant or the oil. done about 20 miles since head gasket was changed..

hi i study music :p... it doesnt taste or smell of anything really... its slimmy... the head was skimmed yes, and the fluid doesnt match the engine oil... the oil is like new the liquid is like a yellowish white colour and creamy... dark in areas... theres a lot of it though, not just a small patch. where it is there was a lot of oil from where my head gasket went, but i did get some cleaner to clean it up so i dont know... any ideas?

If it fell off the car then there is probably more of it above where it fell. Can you pinpont exactly which part of the car it was under and have a look above. It sounds like the kind of stuff that could get cleaned out during a headgasket job and a gob of it may have dropped somewhere in the region and fallen off later. Failing that are there any Cadbury cream egg wrappers on the ground. Easter is closer than you think and they get everywhere.

I wonder if its mucky water thats built up in the scuttle area where the wipers live? Mine's done this in the past when the two plastic drain tube things became blocked :)

and shauns the winner ladies and gents! the liquid appears to be grimy water from all the heavy rain and leaves last night. it was under the car to the left hand side... but the winscreen drain that side was also stained the same colour!... feel slightly silly nowm but thank you very much! i was just worried my head gasket was still troublesome!
