Hi, I have a 51 reg punto and the horn has never been very loud. My husband says its ok but when someone cuts me up it's next to pointless sounding my horn, it sounds like someone giving a cough with a sore throat. Can it be made louder or can i get a different one. Does anyone know how much a new horn will cost or how much a garage will charge me.
Thank you

LOL haha thank you s and b, that's one extreme to the other, something in between would be better :)

depends where you get your MOT, can have a train horn if you really want lol.

I'd try to find another Punto to compare it to. A fully working one should be plenty loud enough, but it's common for them to fail- some go completely while some just sound strangled. Failing that, get one from a scrappy- it's only one 10mm bolt to change.

Horn contacts wear out and can be adjusted back to give a better sound. There is a little screw on the horn body for this. Sounding off after someone cuts you up will probably only result in them flipping you a bird.Horns are for signalling before something happens - not that anyone can hear anymore with their heads plugged into various gadgets or in car raves. Best let it pass, deep breath, refocus on your driving and let Karma do it's work.

i swapped from the Stock horn
mine got wet and kinda took ages to dry and out - never did sound good again

So i fitted some Stebul TM80x2 Horns
A High Note and a Low Note

Nice Horns - however the original wiring isn't able to support double the load, so i've had to add another relay, not a problem :)
